Berlin
Our high school is situated in the south of former West-Berlin, precisely in the district Tempelhof-Schöneberg. The area, called Lichtenrade, is mostly suburban, residential. The majority of its inhabitans, mostly families, lives in single-family houses. Overall, Lichtenarde enjoys a high standard
of living and is a homogenous community. However, the students are barely exposed to and rarely induge in the cultural and multicultural offers Berlin provides in other neighborhoods. The high school, founded in 1907, caters to almost 800 students mostly coming from the neighbouring areas. The
success rate in the final examinations is one of the best in Lichtenrade. The UvH offers extracurricular activities such as science courses like Physics or Social Studies, recreational courses like Theatre and Music, vocational trainings in collaboration with the German Railway. Because of its
outstanding interdisciplinary work on sustainability UvH was named a „fair school“ in 2017. To boost further the positive development of our school and broaden the horizons of our students, encouraging them to become informed, responsible European citizens, we strongly believe the programme would
be ideal. The staff involved in the project is young, qualified and bilingual. Other teachers, even if they are not listed on the application, will cooperate with their respective backgrounds for the project. The UvH has hosted Italian and French teachers within European Placement projects and has a long
tradition of exchanges with several Italian schools, which has always been motivating and culturally very stimulating for the particulars, students and families.
